Levity Entertainment Group has four distinct divisions: Levity Production & Management (artist management and comedy production), Triage Entertainment (non-comedy programming and production), Medium (branded entertainment), and E-Comic Branding (digital strategy and distribution). Levity Entertainment Group represents comedians and writers, produces over 400 hours of television, creates and implements integrated entertainment programs for Fortune 100 brands and, manages the online strategies for over 125 comedy properties.

All four companies work together to provide vertical comedy solutions for talent, consumers and major brand partners. As majority owner of the IMPROV, America’s first and largest comedy club chain, Levity produces comedy programming, strategically targeted for multiple distribution platforms.

History

Levity Entertainment Group was founded in 2004[1] by comedy industry veterans Robert Hartmann and Judi Brown Marmel who together have over 40 years experience. Robert Hartmann is largest combined shareholder of the IMPROV Comedy franchise and has spent his career managing multiple comedy clubs and nurturing comedy talent. Judi Brown Marmel worked for the US Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen for 13 years, booking and developing comedy talent for the festival.

In 2009, Levity Entertainment Group signed a multiplatform output deal with Comedy Central.[2] Levity will produce a dozen standup specials for Comedy Central, with six of them coming from comedians Christopher Titus, Gabriel Iglesias, Pablo Francisco, Jim Breuer, Mitch Fatel, and Pete Correale, all of which will run on the channel this year. Another six specials will be shot this year and run in 2010.

Levity Entertainment has produced shows for Comedy Central, Showtime and TBS.

On Comedy Central, Jeff Dunham’s “Arguing With Myself,”[3] “Spark of Insanity,”[4] and "Very Special Christmas Special"[5] (which drew Comedy Central's biggest audience ever with 6.6 million viewers). John Witherspoon's "You Got To Coordinate,"[6] John Pinette's "I'm Starvin',"[7] Gabriel Iglesias' "Hot and Fluffy,"[8] Daniel Tosh's "Completely Serious,”[9] “Steve Byrne's Happy Hour,”[10] “Bob & Tom Comedy All-Stars Tour,”[11] and the upcoming Jeff Dunham Show launching in the fall of 2009.
